YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 22, ARMENPRESS. After an 11-year pause, airBaltic announced the resumption of Riga-Yerevan flights starting May, 2023.

The roundtrip flights will enable travelers from Armenia to reach over 90 cities around the world from Latvia, the Honorary Consul of Latvia in Armenia Armen Ghasaboghlyan said at an event announcing the flight.

“Estonia and Lithuania are very close to Latvia, thus, travelers can even visit and enjoy these countries without transit flight, rather by high-class buses. The flights will commence May 16, 2023, twice a week. Tickets are already available, furthermore we’ve introduced discounts on top of the already affordable prices and a roundtrip Yerevan-Riga flight ticket is available for around 200 euros,” Ghasaboghlyan said.

airBaltic Area Manager for Ukraine, Caucasus and South Eastern Europe Mariya Radchenko added that the airline’s fleet includes new airplanes, with the oldest aircraft being 3 years old.

“Besides being new, our airplanes are very convenient. We offer our customers both budget and business class full packages. What matters is that we offer our passengers the opportunity to choose,” she said.

Armine Adamian, the Honorary Consul of Spain in Armenia and Director of Amistad-Tour – airBaltic’s general sales agent in Armenia, said that the flights will contribute not only to outbound tourism but also inbound.

“This will enable us to attract tourists from various countries into Armenia,” she said, adding that Armenian and Latvian travel agencies will pay mutual introductory visits soon. “I think this is also a good chance for boosting economic ties between the two countries,” Adamian said.
