ABU DHABI, NOVEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS. The Emirates News Agency (WAM) attaches importance to the cooperation with ARMENPRESS news agency, a cooperation that started in 2019 by the signing of a respective agreement, WAM Director-General Mohamed Jalal Al Rayssi, who is also the Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee for the ongoing Global Media Congress (GMC) in Abu Dhabi, said speaking to ARMENPRESS.

“I think we have to push that cooperation more and more. We need to collaborate more what the area are that are interested from both sides. So I think we have a lot of things about tourism, business, culture that we are missing, so we need to push those and learn about it more and try to have more content from both sides about this. And not only exchanging news, but also trainings, also having events together sometime. This is something that we are trying now to activate with this Congress. We are always looking for our partners to come first. By this we are trying to have more relations and connections with our sister news agencies”, he said.

Speaking about the Congress outcomes, WAM Director-General said: “Firstly, we have now friends everywhere in the world. All of us who came from different background, different countries met new people, we have a new connection everywhere. Secondly, we have a platform now that we can learn every year new things. Third, we are looking now to build our capacity for the future of the media- how it would like based on the search, based on the fact, based on decisions that we have. This is the important outcome from this Global Media Congress. And we will continue to work on this again and again and again to achieve more relation, strong relation with each other, more information about the future and have the chance to create the future of our agencies or newspapers or digital platforms in the way that we can see it”.

According to him, the main challenge facing the media now is the technology. “We are focusing now on technology and content together. This Global Media Congress is the opportunity to learn both and to work with both to come with new solutions that can ease a little bit the challenges that we are having”, Mohamed Jalal Al Rayssi said.

The other challenge, he said, is tolerance side. “We have a lot of hate messages around the world. Some respected media put some content that are not unacceptable maybe with other nations. So it’s important for us to have more and more tolerance content out to show the respect of each other, to show how we’re close and instead of concentrating in differences which is very small, we have to concentrate more in about what are common between us as a human”, the WAM Director-General stated.
