Education funding of Armenia to be raised by over 23 billion AMD in 2023

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. The state budget of Armenia for 2023 will allocate 250.03 billion AMD to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports of Armenia, which is by 23.5 billion AMD more than the budget for 2022. As the press service of the ministry told ARMENPRESS, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Vahram Dumanyan said at the National Assembly at the discussion of the draft law on the state budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2023.

According to the Minister, most of the funds will be directed to education.

“Human capital is our main national wealth, and our efforts are aimed at its development and enhancement. Our ministry is one of the main actors in this matter. Next year, the total budget of the ministry will increase by about 23.05 billion AMD, of which 8 billion will be directed to investment projects in the fields of education and sports. Among the areas of coordination of the ministry, education, especially general education, is a priority. Most of the funds go to education. Compared to this year, the increase is 9.01% or 16 billion drams, which will primarily be directed to the general education sector,” Vahram Dumanyan said, stressing that more than 70 schools and 19 preschool institutions will be renovated in 2023.
