Rapid development of science and technology the guarantee to Armenia’s progress – UATE
chief

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 31, ARMENPRESS. The rapid development of science and technology is the guarantee to Armenia’s progress, Executive Director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) Hayk Chobanyan said during the Global Armenian Summit in Yerevan.

In his remarks Mr. Chobanyan said the Summit is very important for Armenia and the Armenian people. According to him, Armenia must not be separated from Diaspora and Artsakh. He stated that the Summit is of strategic significance for the present and future of Armenia and its people, especially in this tense geopolitical situation.

“Those countries benefit whose science and technologies are based on global knowledge and combined with the systems of scientific and technological institutions of different countries. In this sense there shouldn’t be any difference in any science-based sector in Armenia”, he said.

The UATE Executive Director stated that Armenia has not utilized the Diaspora’s potential. “We do not use most of the potential of the Diaspora. The word use sounds rude, but when the talk concerns pursuing and promoting the national interests, we can use even this rude word. The potential of all of us must be used for Armenia and the country’s future. I attach importance to the unification of pan-Armenian efforts”, he said.

He said that there are many scientific and technological organizations both in Armenia and the Diaspora, and their unification is a necessity.
