YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6, ARMENPRESS. The fields of applying artificial intelligence are expanding globally.

During the Global Innovation Forum in Yerevan, the participants also discussed the use of AI in research and development.

“We are trying to understand DNAs that have been before the coronavirus and the DNA that has been formed under the impact of COVID, to understand the differences, conduct research and see what is happening. There are new methods which allow to better understand the data, more effectively continue the research and choose the most promising paths”, Cyrus Moazami-Vahid, Principal Solutions Engineer - AWS AI Deep Engine at Amazon Web Services, Germany, said.

As for what role the AI can play in the supply of food, Narek Verdian, CTO of Glovo, said: “There are self-learning algorithms which learn by themselves based on the data and experience that gain within the course of time, and they are trying to independently find algorithms how many couriers will be needed, in what direction they should move on, what cars there will be, and how long the delivery will take place. We are trying to experiment artificial intelligence in different markets”, he said.

Paul Chong, Product Manager of Stripe, USA, said that in the past 5 years they are trying to optimize the technologies through AI. “We are trying to provide individual approach to our customers, something which was impossible to do before the era of AI, but now it is possible”, he said.

The Global Innovation Forum has been organized by the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST). The Forum is being held since 2017. This year the Forum is on “Life Altering Technologies”, with the focus on multisectoral use of AI and its impact on people’s activities.
