STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Artsakh’s parliamentary standing committee on state-legal affairs has convened a session led by chairman Sevak Aghajanyan, the Parliament’s press service said.

The debate of the bill on making a change to the Law on Occupied Territories of the Republic of Artsakh was on agenda.

Justice Minister Zhirayr Mirzoyan presented the bill.

The bill envisages making legislative amendments before February 1, 2023, that will ensure the exercise of the electoral right of the citizens of Artsakh of the occupied territories.

The Minister of Justice said that the necessity of the bill came for conducting deeper and comprehensive studies to develop effective and practical mechanisms for the participation of displaced citizens of Artsakh to elections and referendums.

The proposals over the bill will be discussed.

The bill, approved with 3 votes in favor, will be included in the agenda of the session of the Parliament.
