483 international, 8749 local observers follow elections

YEREVAN, JUNE 20, ARMENPRESS. 483 observers from 8 international and foreign organizations and 8749 observers from 19 local organizations are observing the June 20 parliamentary elections, the Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission Tigran Mukuchyan said at a news conference.

Another 61 foreign nationals have been entitled to follow the voting process as guests, he said. “745 representatives of 68 local media outlets and around 135 representatives of 50 foreign media outlets are accredited with the purpose of covering the elections,” he said.

Surveillance cameras are transmitting the voting process and subsequent count in real-time from 1500 polling stations across the country.
