Cypriot MP calls on Azerbaijan to stop military aggression against Artsakh

Cypriot MP calls on Azerbaijan to stop military aggression against Artsakh

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. Member of the House of Representatives (Parliament) of Cyprus Constantinos Efstathiou urges Azerbaijan to stop the military operations against Artsakh.

“This must be treated as an aggression and must be stopped by the international community. The international community should take measures against every aggression in the region as aggression can be multiplied and lead to more and more human losses. The international community should stand by the people of Artsakh and show its solidarity in every possible way”, the Cypriot MP said.

Commenting on Turkey, he said that militaristic country is showing its support to Azerbaijan.

“Turkey proved themselves to be the locomotive of this aggression in the region. They are aggressive against Greece, they invaded Syria, they kill their own people. They stand by Azerbaijan. This situation must be stopped”, he said.

On September 27 early morning the Azerbaijani military has launched a massive cross-border artillery attack on Artsakh, including on civilian settlements. Peaceful settlements are also under bombardment, including the capital city of Stepanakert.

The Azerbaijani side suffered losses in its military equipment.

Dozens of civilians in Artsakh were wounded as a result of the Azerbaijani attack. A woman and a child were killed in the Azerbaijani attack.
