Ombudsman publishes images from Azeri deliberate attacks on Artsakh civilians

STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. The Artsakh Human Rights Defender’s Office has launched a fact-finding mission on the consequences of the Azerbaijani attack on Artsakh.

According to updated information Azerbaijan bombarded with artillery and strike drones all major and small settlements of Artsakh, including Stepanakert city, Askeran, Marakert, Martuni, Hadrut and Shushi.

“According to preliminary information there are two confirmed deaths and dozens of wounded among the civilian population. Only in Stepanakert there are more than 10 wounded, including women and children. Representatives of the Human Rights Defender have visited a group of wounded civilians who are being treated at the Republican Medical Center in Stepanakert,” the office said.

Schools are among the numerous buildings and infrastructures that were damaged during the attack.

“Analysis of the collected data proves that the Azerbaijani military deliberately targeted the civilian population, which constituted a gross violation of international humanitarian law. The Human Rights Defender calls on the international community to give respective assessment to the Azerbaijani actions, moreover during the COVID-19 pandemic.
