Woman and child killed in Artsakh as Azerbaijan bombs civilian settlements, including schools

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. A woman and a child have been killed in Martuni region amid the ongoing Azerbaijani military attack on Artsakh, Ombudsman Artak Beglaryan said.

“There are fatalities and wounded among the civilian population as a result of the Azerbaijani bombardment. Two people are dead in the Martuni region – a woman and a child, two others are wounded. Schools were also bombarded, including in Stepanakert city. There are massive damages to civilian infrastructure in many settlements,” he said.

On early Sunday morning the Azerbaijani military launched a massive cross border artillery attack on Artsakh (Karabakh). The Azerbaijani bombardment also targeted civilian settlements, including Stepanakert city. 

Heavy battles are taking place at the entire length of the line of contact as Azerbaijani forces are attacking with helicopters, tanks and UAVs.

The Artsakh military said it shot down two attacking helicopters, three tanks and three UAVs.
