details

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS. There is no increase in the coronavirus cases among school-children in Armenia in 6-17 aged group over the past two weeks, Head of Epidemiology Department at the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention Lusine Paronyan said during a press conference in Armenpress.

“If we compare the figure of the first half of September with the second half, we see that no increase in coronavirus infections has taken place among the school-children, quite the contrary, the figure has decreased. In any case, it’s still too early to make conclusions, as it’s just two weeks the classes have started. We need to wait a little to see the complete picture. We can state that the increase in number of coronavirus cases in the Republic is not connected with the opening of schools”, she said.

According to the latest data, 392 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Armenia, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 48,643. 135 more patients have recovered in one day. The total number of recoveries has reached 43,401. 3842 tests were conducted in the past one day. 2 more patients have died, raising the death toll to 947. The number of active cases is 4002.
