YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan considers the 2020 state budget draft revolutionary.

The PM delivered remarks in the Parliament during the debate of the budget draft, noting: “Firstly, is the 2020 budget draft revolutionary? During the 2018 revolution when I was not yet the Prime Minister of Armenia, I publicly announced that the budget of Armenia should increase by 30-35% within one-two years, this was one of the promises of the revolution. Now, the revenue part of the 2020 state budget surpasses that of 2018 by 27.4%, if we add to this the budget performance indicators in 2018, which are over-fulfilled by 62 billions, therefore, the budget increase comprises 33%. And if we add to this the budget losses we had as a result of our decisions, our growth already comprises 35%. This is a right answer to the question whether this budget is revolutionary or not. Yes, this is a revolutionary budget because it is the right implementation of the promise I personally made”.

Earlier the Prosperous Armenia faction of the Parliament said it doesn’t consider this budget as revolutionary and announced that they will vote against the 2020 budget draft.
