Armenia plans to eliminate hepatitis C with Indian generic drugs

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian Healthcare Ministry is planning to launch a National Anti-Hepatitis C Program with high-quality Indian generic drugs, Minister of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan told reporters.

“Indian high-quality generic drugs are ten times more affordable than American analogues,” he said.

“The National Program included 500 persons, then 1000. We must eliminate the hepatitis C epidemic in Armenia thanks to high-quality Indian generic drugs,” he said.

Torosyan said there are more than 4000 drugs registered in Armenia, with 10% being imported from India.
