YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan introduced the young diplomats of the foreign ministry on the greatest mission of diplomacy during an event dedicated to the diplomats’ oath ceremony and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic School.

“There is such a situation that by saying diplomacy we mianly understand just the foreign ties, but now all state structures, including also the city halls and municipalities deal with the diplomacy because the circle of contacts has widened a lot all over the world. What is the greatest mission of the diplomatic service in the new conditions? My belief is that the diplomatic service should help the country, the state and the people so that the world will understand us better, and we will understand the world better because this largely depends on to what extent we are in accordance with the processes and the developments taking place in the world, in case when these processes are in accordance with our national and state interests. And also to what extent we will be able to recognize that processes and manage our interests in case when these global processes contradict to our interests”, the PM said.

He added that Armenia and its people should be able to have their own role, identity in the contemporary work, protect, preserve and develop that identity.
