YEREVAN, OCTOBER 22, ARMENPRESS. Deputy Minister of Economy Artak Kamalyan received French Ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Lacôte, the Embassy advisor on agricultural issues and a group of experts, the ministry told Armenpress.

The meeting aimed at discussing issues relating to the French agriculture ministry’s technical assistance provided for introducing a system of wines with geographical indication which is being carried out jointly with the Viticulture and Winemaking Foundation of Armenia and the Intellectual Property Agency.

The guests briefly introduced the French experience in the field of geographical indications. The meeting participants exchanged views on the recent developments in the field. Deputy Minister Kamalyan said geographical indications are very important for the sustainable development of agriculture in Armenia, adding that Armenia expects the assistance of the French side to organize this process at a high level.
