YEREVAN, OCTOBER 17, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has held a meeting today with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe’s Special Advisor Eiichi Hasegawa, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

The Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan is in Armenia for the Global Innovation Forum held in Yerevan.

PM Pashinyan said Armenia attaches importance to political dialogue with Japan, dialogue which is dynamically developing since the establishment of diplomatic relations, and the productive cooperation which has been developed on this basis has potential for expansion.

The PM expressed gratitude for the assistance provided to Armenia as part of JICA and noted that the implemented joint projects are contributing to the development of the Armenian-Japanese ties in various sectors.

Eiichi Hasegawa thanked for the meeting and conveyed Japanese PM Shinzo Abe’s greetings and good wishes to the Armenian PM on the occasion of the ongoing reforms in the direction of developing democracy in Armenia. He said that the Government of Japan is interested in deepening relations with Armenia and is ready to discuss prospects of further developing bilateral partnership.

The sides exchanged ideas around the process of infrastructure development programs in a number of sectors as well as prospects of deepening ties in education, tourism and humanitarian sectors.

The Armenian PM reiterated his invitation addressed to Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe to visit Armenia, noting that he would be happy to host his Japanese colleague and discuss prospects of the productive partnership between Armenia and Japan.
