Armenian FM receives US delegation led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS. Armenian foreign minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on September 11 received the delegation led by US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine, Eurasia Laura Cooper, the foreign ministry told Armenpress.

Welcoming the guests the Armenian FM stated that the further strengthening and deepening of friendly and partnering relations with the United States has been and remains among Armenia’s foreign policy priorities. The sides agreed that this visit is a good opportunity to examine the areas which will enable to further strengthen and expand the cooperation between the two countries on peace, security-related matters.

The sides also highly appreciated the US-Armenia continuous cooperation within NATO’s Partnership for Peace and Resolute Support mission. In this context the foreign minister reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to continue and expand its contribution to the international efforts aimed at maintaining peace.

Minister Mnatsakanyan introduced Armenia’s foreign policy and security priorities, its principled position and approaches on the peaceful settlement process of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. In this context the sides also highly valued the US efforts, as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country, towards the peaceful settlement.
