WHO experts in Armenia for assessment mission

YEREVAN, MARCH 20, ARMENPRESS. As part of cooperation between the Ministry of Healthcare and the World Health Organization (WHO) Armenia Office, a WHO expert mission has arrived in Armenia to assess the planning and development system of human potential in the healthcare sector.

Deputy Healthcare Minister Lena Nanushyan and Deputy Healthcare Minister Arsen Davtyan received the WHO mission, the healthcare ministry said in a news release.

In addition to the assessment, the WHO mission said they are ready to provide technical support for the development of a more efficient policy.

Nanushyan presented the existing situation in the sector, the current regulations for continuous specialized development, post-graduate education of medical personnel and the new licensing system.

During the five-day visit, the experts met with representatives of medical education institutions and specialized associations. Among others, they discussed the opportunities of creating a human potential registrar.

The WHO mission is also planning to visit provinces across the country to assess the staffing issue.
