YEREVAN, MARCH 16, ARMENPRESS. The French-Armenian Cultural Union (UCFAF) wants to return the positive tapes of 64-feature length, documentary and short films to Armenia which were received from Soviet Armenia 40 years ago, the National Cinema Center of Armenia told Armenpress.

In December 2016, the French-Armenian Cultural Union has applied to the Armenian Embassy in France with this issue to find out whether Armenia needs these films. In its turn the ministry of culture has sent a request to the National Cinema Center of Armenia which began dealing with the issue. It was revealed that these films have been screened in different French cities for years for the Armenian community. Last time they were screened 25 years ago.

At the moment the representatives of the NCCA are taking actions to transport the films to Armenia. For this purpose, talks are underway with the Armenian Embassy in France and its representatives to organize the transportation process which can start in several stages given the volume of the material.
