YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 11, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has congratulated former artistic gymnast Albert Azaryan on his 90th birthday.

“Your sports achievements are exclusive in the history of Armenian gymnastics”, the PM said in a letter. “You are a walking legend for all Armenians, as well as an inspirational example and a teacher for young athletes. You are one of those individuals who comprise the glory and pride of Armenian sports. I wish you robust health and long years of life”.

Albert Azaryan is the first person to do one of the rings most famous variations of the Iron Cross called the Azaryan Cross.

He is the 1956 and 1960 Olympic Champion on the still rings.
