Armenian Ambassador meets with Polish Senate President

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 11, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Ambassador to Poland Samvel Mkrtchyan on February 8 met with President (Marshal) of the Senate (upper house of the parliament) Stanisław Karczewski, the Armenian foreign ministry told Armenpress.

Stanisław Karczewski congratulated the Ambassador on appointment and wished him success in his mission expressing readiness to assist.

Touching upon the effective cooperation of the parliaments of the two countries, the Armenian Ambassador expressed confidence that it will acquire a new positive quality and will contribute to the development of the relations following the recent snap parliamentary elections of Armenia. Ambassador Mkrtchyan highlighted the actions aimed at developing the Armenia-EU partnership and considered important the fact that the upper and lower houses of the Polish Parliament were among the first ones to complete the ratification process of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

The President of the Polish Senate emphasized the significance of the parliamentary diplomacy in the international relations and expressed hope that the parliamentary friendship groups will continue active works for developing the bilateral ties.

The two officials also discussed the jubilee events of the recent years, the unique attitude of the Polish authorities towards the 650th anniversary of the Armenian community and etc.
