YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 11, ARMENPRESS. Iran will continue enhancing its military power and will develop its missile program, President Hassan Rouhani said during a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Tehran.

“We will continue enhancing [our] military might. Our capabilities in this field during the 40 years and especially in the last five years astonish the entire world”, Rouhani said. “Iran doesn’t need permission to develop its missile program.

According to the president, today Iran is manufacturing “missiles, military aircraft, vessels and submarines, armored carriers, i.e. everything that the Iranian armed forces need”.

Iran has been developing its missile program since the 1990s, achieving certain success in designing ballistic missiles. At the same time, Tehran refuses to negotiate on restrictions on its missile program, arguing that its competitors in the region too have ballistic missiles in their arsenals.
