Armenia ready to buy gas from any country if price is competitive

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. Armenia has numerously said that it is ready to buy natural gas from any country, including from Iran, if the proposed price will be competitive, the ministry of energy infrastructures and natural resources told ARMENPRESS when asked to comment on media reports that Iran is offering gas at a lower price than Russia.

Press secretary of the minister Vasak Tarposhyan said currently the Iranian gas costs more than the Russian one. In addition, the government hasn’t yet received an official proposal on a more competitive price from Iran.

“Cooperation prospects in the gas and electricity sector are currently viewed in the regional format and are always included in the agenda of various level meetings”, he said.
