1 dead, 5 wounded in Ayatollah Khomeini mausoleum shooting in Tehran

YEREVAN, JUNE 7, ARMENPRESS. According to preliminary reports, one person was killed and 5 others wounded in the shooting at the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini in Tehran, Iran.

Press TV reported one of the attackers detonated a bomb inside the mausoleum.

According to Tasnim news agency, several gunmen stormed in the mausoleum and opened sporadic gunfire. Shortly thereafter, one of the gunmen detonated a bomb, while the other gunmen was shot dead by security officers.

One woman, who was among the attackers, has been apprehended.

Mehr news agency said a bomb was defused outside the mausoleum.

The subway station in the vicinity of the building has been shut down for security reasons.

Earlier Iranian media reported that gunmen have stormed the Parliament and opened gunfire.
