80% of Turkish officers have links with Gulen’s organization – says Turkish PM

YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS. Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said 60-80% of the country’s general staff of the armed forces, 95% of the military academies have links with “Fethullah Terrorist Organization” (FETO) which is being blamed by Ankara on organizing military coup attempt in Turkey, Haberturk reports.

The Turkish PM said the Government is going to restructure the armed forces and conduct reforms. He said the structure of the Turkish Supreme Military Council will be changed without mentioning any details.

Yildirim said Gulen’s organization in Turkey may be comprised of over 5000 people who have their own networks for keeping in touch with each other.

The Turkish PM said currently 76,597 people were revealed for having links with Gulen’s organization, 7897 state employees were dismissed in suspect of having ties with the organization. From those more than 3000 are military officials.

“Overall, till now 81,494 people have been revealed in suspect of having ties with the Gulenists”, he said.

The Turkish PM ensured that in the upcoming 6 months new developments will be realized by Turkey on Syrian issue.
