YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 16, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Russian Federation (RF) Dmitry Medvedev met with Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board Tigran Sargsyan. RF Prime Minister in his speech mentioned that Tigran Sargsyan was still leading the Armenian government when he last time met him. "And now you are the head of a body that coordinates the activities of other governments, namely our Eurasian board. It is a hard but interesting work as it seems to me, because it is aimed at the integration, to achieve better results that benefit all the countries forming the Eurasian Economic Union,” Medvedev said.

Russian PM expressed a hope that they will have sufficient number of contacts given the fact that the headquarters of the commission is located in Moscow, and taking into account the different activities that will take place at the government level, at the level of government leadership. “And, of course, it is very important for us to establish full-fledged work with the new staff of the Commission in order to solve the problems that are now relevant. There are a lot of accumulated documents which need to be taken and they are subjected to an agreement. It is not so easy. It is important as well to look for solutions in various, sometimes very complex situations that arise in the economic life of the Eurasian Union and in relations with other problems, Russian PM added.

“You know, we had a problem with the delivery of our cargo transit transportation through the territory of Ukraine. We are also forced to take retaliatory steps. All this, too, is subjected to the issues that can be agreed in the format of the Eurasian Economic Union,” he said.

Newly appointed Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board Tigran Sargsyan expressed his gratitude to RF Prime Minister for warm words and for the trust. “I realize the responsibility that now lies on me and serious expectations on the part of our countries, because the citizens of our countries and business want to see some real advantages from the integration and we must show that the integration operates and this will be an additional stimulus for the integration processes.

And, of course, your support will definitely help us to more effectively move forward. I am grateful for what you have said that our meetings will be periodic. This will certainly help to solve a lot of issues as quickly as possible. Thank you very much,” Tigran Sargsyan concluded.
