YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS. Meeting between Armenia’s Ambassador to Spain Avet Adonts and Madrid Mayor Manuela Carmena Castro took place on November 23. As “Armenpress” was informed from the pres service of the Republic of Armenia MFA, the sides touched upon the current state of Armenian-Spanish relations and development prospects. In this context, an agreement was reached to make efforts aimed at coordinating cooperation spheres and elaboration of projects.

Speaking about community life, Mayor Manuela Carmena Castro highlighted the role of the Armenian community in Madrid’s social, economic and cultural life expressing all readiness to support organizing the community life and integrating Madrid-Armenians, which, in his words, is the philosophy of “internationalizing” Madrid.  

Considering the interest towards Spanish language and culture in Armenia, as well as advanced teaching of Spanish in Armenian schools and higher educational institutions, humanitarian cooperation was discussed during the meeting.

Armenian Ambassador also introduced the events organized in Madrid within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide to the Mayor.
