Iranian photojournalist shares her prize with Syrian and Iraqi refugees

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. 2015 Principal Prince Claus Laureate Iranian photojournalist Newsha Tavakolian has decided to share her prize with Syrian and Iraqi refugees. “Armenpress” reports, referring to Nouvelles d`Armenie, that before this Tavakolian conducted activities in Syria and Iraq.

The photojournalist’s prize is rather valuable and she has decided to be really lavish towards the refugees. “It’s difficult to be happy with the prize when I see the hotspots I work in and how thousands of people leave their homes to make living. ”, said Tavakolian. 

“Armenpress” reports, referring to GlobalVoces, that Tavakolian has allocated 15,000 euros of her prize money to an organisation helping Syrian and Iraqi refugees, while 30,000 euros of her prize money has already been set aside for various charities and funds working on independent photography, children's cancer and wildlife preservation in Iran.
