ICRC representatives meet Azerbaijani captive

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS: The representatives of the Stepanakert Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross have met with the Azerbaijani captive, who crossed the Karabakh-Azerbaijani border on September 5. The Head of the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Captives and Missing People of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Viktor Kocharyan told Armenpress about it.
“I confirm that information (that the representatives of the Stepanakert Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross have met with the Azerbaijani captive)”, - said Viktor Kocharyan, refusing to give other comments.
Earlier it was reported that a citizen of Azerbaijan was taken captive at an attempt to cross the state border of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic in the north-eastern direction (Upper Chaylu) of the line of contact of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani conflicting forces at 18:10 on September 5. Mamedov Javid Samiroglu was taken captive on Friday evening, the press service of the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army reported. The International Committee of the Red Cross has been informed about the incident, and Samiroglu has been handed over to relevant agencies of Nagorno Karabakh.
