YEREVAN, JULY 21, ARMENPRESS. Yerevan Thermal Power Plant, which provides 25% of Armenia’s electricity, completed its capital repair ahead of time and restarted its operation. In his conversation with the journalists, the Director of Yerevan Thermal Power Plant Hovakim Hovhannisyan assured that the operation of the plant ahead of time would not cause security problems. "Close to the completion of the capital repair, from July 17, we started the operations as scheduled: development of logic schemes of management, their installation in the automatic control systems. We finally switched on the energy block for permanent operation on Sunday - July 20, at 18:00,” informed the Director.

According to him, the repair process was completed ahead of time due to the fact that the steam turbine rotor was in a clean condition, which surprised also the representatives of the Japanese company. “After dismantling the steam turbine, cleaning was to be done, which, to our delight, was not needed, because it had remained very clean. There was absolutely no need for cleaning, the rotor was in an excellent condition," reports “Armenpress”, citing Hovakim Hovhannisyan.
