Issue of subsidizing gas price will be settled under Customs Union: Minister of Energy

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS. The negotiations regarding the subsidizing gas price will soon come to their logical ending. The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Armen Movsisyan stated this at the course of the press conference convoked on September 11. As reports "Armenpress", the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Armen Movsisyan underlined: "That issue will find its solution under the Customs Union."

Among other things the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Armen Movsisyan touched upon the issue of Armenia's decision to join the Customs Union and highlighted that his attitude towards that step is positive. In addition the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Armen Movsisyan emphasized: "The decision to join the Customs Union may have a benevolent impact on the economy of the Republic of Armenia particularly in the energy sphere, as we import our energy generating materials from Russia."

"Armrusgazard" CJSC and "Transgaz" LLC applied to the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia, offering to raise the current gas tariff from AMD 132,000 to AMD 221,000. It is suggested to raise the present price for the gas from 132,000 AMD to 221,000 AMD for the users (subscribers), who consume up to 10,000 normal cubic meter of gas monthly, VAT included.
