YEREVAN, AUGUST 30, ARMENPRESS. The number of internet users has recorded a growth in the cities and rural communities of the Republic of Armenia. The analysis of the data provided by "Alternative Media Recourses – 2013" sociological survey proves this. The Caucasus Research Resource Centers program (CRRC) conducted the survey. As reports "Armenpress" the number of internet users in Armenia increased by 20 percent in comparison with the data of the same survey conducted in 2011. The growth of internet users number in the capital was predictable (64 percent of the respondents turned out to be internet users; in 2011 this number equaled to 41 percents), but it’s noteworthy that that the number of internet users increased in the rural communities by 24 percents.

The Program Manager for Data Initiative and Methodological Trainings of the Caucasus Research Resource Centers program (CRRC) Armine Petrossian highlighted that the survey targets to gather facts for the experts of the media sphere to have a better understanding of the society and come to certain conclusions by themselves. "We merely recorded facts, and did not seek to interpret them," Armine Petrosyan noted.
