YEREVAN, JANUARY 14, ARMENPRESS. Armenia will take any possible step for the involvement of the Iranian Blue Mosque of Yerevan in UNESCO list of cultural heritage. The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia Hasmik Poghosyan stated this in a conversation with "Armenpress". This procedure is of a certain importance for the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia, as her visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran in the previous year served as a good opportunity for her to get acquainted with the problems of preservation of the Armenian historical-cultural heritage. The Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan stated: "Iran is among those unique countries, which surrounds the Armenian churches, schools, and educational and cultural complexes with special attention. They are preserving our monuments in a very good state."

The Blue Mosque of Yerevan is the sole Muslim tabernacle of Yerevan. Muslims living in our country visit the Blue Mosque. The Blue Mosque was built in Yerevan, in 1766 on the initiative of Hussein. This is the largest mosque in Caucasus. The mosque was preserved due to the efforts of Charents, who suggested turning it into a museum. The Blue Mosque is among the sightseeing and historical places of the capital.
