European and Caucasian transport specialists discussing the prospects of cooperation

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS: Training courses have been organized in Moldova for European and Caucasian transport specialists in the framework of TRACECA (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia) financed by the European Union. As reports Armenpress referring to EU Neighborhood Informational Centre, participants of the training have been provided with an opportunity to have an experience exchange with the best European specialists.

During the courses the experts of transport sphere underlined that it is necessary to improve the existing railway which is connecting China with Europe, passing through the Caucasus, Black Sea and Southern Europe.        

TRACECA was established in 1993, upon the signing of Multilateral Agreement on International Transport for the development of transport initiatives, including the establishment and development of a road corridor, between the EU, the Caucasus and Central Asia. TRACECA has five working groups: maritime transport, aviation, road and rail, transport security, and transport infrastructure. Amongst its specific projects was the creation of a new bridge to replace and protect the heritage bridge at Krasny Most, between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
