The New Center in Noragyugh District to be Called New Yerevan

YEREVAN, JUNE 30, ARMENPRESS: Mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan and the delegation, headed by Vladimir Resin, first deputy mayor of Moscow in the Government of Moscow City, visited today Noragyugh district, which is adjacent to Admiral Isaacov Avenue, and got acquainted with the territory, intended for city construction. The project and the miniature of the new business-cultural center of Yerevan were presented to the visitors. Mr. Gagik Beglaryan mentioned at today’s briefing that the current center of Yerevan is loaded, that is why Yerevan needs a new center. It will be constructed in Noragyugh district and will be called New Yerevan. The Mayor informed that various buildings will be available in the center: international, business, diplomatic, cultural, educational centers, industrial parks, dormitories, dwellings, green territories, etc. According to Mr. Gagik Beglaryan, the project was presented to the Mayor of Moscow two months ago. The Mayor of Moscow expressed readiness to support the implementation of the project within the framework of Moscow-Yerevan cooperation. Mr. Gagik Beglaryan added that 2 ha territory is intended for the construction of dwellings for the dwellers of Noragyugh. They will be given apartments as compensation. ‘The old, demolished houses will be ‘sold’. We will not start using the territory of their houses, until we have comfortable apartments for them,’ Gagik Beglaryan said. The Mayor added that the project is very interesting and it is important to prepare for it properly.
