90-year-old Public Radio’s new revised schedule to satisfy all listeners

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS. Public Radio of Armenia has received a new breath and provides the Armenian listeners both traditional, as well as nearly 2 dozen new programs, reports “Armenpress”.
On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Public Radio, the inner yard has been completely reconstructed, lighted and greened where there are 10 types of 1370 plants. The Honorary path and park were built in Alex Manoogian Street adjacent to the Radio building.
Executive Director of Public Radio Arman Saghatelyan said in the new season they have tried to satisfy the interests of all listeners. “We have conducted a small research in order to review our broadcasting policy. We wanted to know what the Armenian public expects from the Public Radio as a news agency. We have revealed that the public needs certain consultation, explanation of information. It is related to various sectors such as social, healthcare, financial, when people deal with the financial system, but they are not properly informed about their rights, duties. The new schedule is to fill that gap”, he said.
He said they have tried to satisfy the demands of socially active audience as well.
Educational Program Manager of Mass Media scientific and educational centerAnush Martirosyan presented the activities of the educational center. “It was established by the Public TV and Radio Company of Armenia in 2013. The center aims to train qualified and specialized personnel for TV and Radio”. She said currently over 60 students study in the center.
Journalist Rima Petrosyan, who has been awarded by the Armenian President, has 50 years of working experience in TV and Radio. Now she is still an active journalist. “I have countless publications. I have reports on all sectors, all of them have become familiar over time”, she said adding that she has always felt the public’s respect towards her works.
