YEREVAN, MARCH 19, ARMENPRESS. Women are alert and attentive while driving. The characterization that women are driving poorly and create dangerous situations is false. This is the opinion of the member of the Council of Armenian Automobile Federation and head of the women’s club Irina Belubekyan. According to her, there are bad drivers among males also. "The number of women drivers has increased in recent years. The rapid rhythm of life requires this. They need to take their children to school, kindergarten, and shop and eventually get to work,” Irina Belubekyan said during an interview with "Armenpress ".
Kima Saryan, who on March 19 won the 17th Armenian Women's Driving Championship, believes that women have become much more experienced and are more cautious when driving than men. "Men, being fiery tempered, can do dangerous maneuvers. Women are more cautious behind the wheel, "said Kima Saryan, who has 7 years experience in driving, adding that driving is a necessity for her.
Head of Traffic Police Armen Hakobyan informed "Armenpress" that according to their data, 8104 women have been granted drivers licenses in Armenia during 2015.
As of March 23, 2016, 41277 women are registered in the license system.
In 2015, 76 women were involved in vehicular accidents resulting in deaths and bodily injuries, in 2014: 45, in 2013: 46.
