YEREVAN, JUNE 20, ARMENPRESS: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan hosted the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Armenia Ghazi Tahir Khalid on the occasion of handing in the copies of the credentials. As Armenpress was reported by the Department for Press, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, congratulating Ghazi Tahir Khalid on the occasion of the appointment as the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Armenia, Edward Nalbandyan wished him good luck in his mission and expressed his hope that the activities of the new Ambassador will considerably contribute in the strengthening of the historical, traditional and friendly Armenian-Iraqi relations.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan emphasized that during the last years the bilateral high ranking visits of the representatives of the two countries and the re-establishment of the embassies in the capitals of Armenia and Iraq have given a new impetus to the Armenian-Iranian relations.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Republic of Armenia Ghazi Tahir Khalid assured that he will make all the necessary efforts to develop the bilateral cooperation in different fields between the two countries. He added that Iraq considers quiet important the expansion and deepening of the cooperation with the friendly Armenia, as well as emphasized about the considerable contribution of the Armenian community in Iraq’s development and prosperity.
