Issues regarding WHO-Armenia cooperation discussed

YEREVAN, JUNE 20, ARMENPRESS. The Director of the World Health Organization's Regional Office for Europe Zsuzsanna Jakab paid a short working visit to Armenia on the invitation of the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia Derenik Dumanyan. The Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia informed "Armenpress" that at the course of the June 19 meeting Armenia's Minister of Healthcare expressed his gratitude to Zsuzsanna Jakab for accepting his invitation and stated that her visit would have a serious positive impact on the future cooperation.

Before the launch of issues regarding the WHO-Armenia cooperation, Derenik Dumanyan introduced the ongoing reforms in the healthcare sphere of the Republic of Armenia and approaches, which will lay the foundation for the healthcare policy during the upcoming years.

Among other things the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia Derenik Dumanyan touched upon the issue of efficient cooperation with the WHO Armenian office and underlined that the results of the cooperation had been introduced in details during the Armenian Healthcare Ministry Board.

In turn, the Director of the World Health Organization's Regional Office for Europe Zsuzsanna Jakab assured that her structure is willing to support the programs of the Ministry of Healthcare of Armenia. In particular, she highly appreciated the results of the program aimed at the prevention of infection diseases. In addition Zsuzsanna Jakab laid a heavy emphasis on the inexorability of the Ministry regarding the settlement of issues the system has to face with.
