YEREVAN, JUNE 19, ARMENPRESS: The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan received Ivan Volinkin, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Armenia on June 18. As Armenpress was reported by the Department for Mass Media and Public Relations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the Ambassador assured the President of the National Assembly that during his diplomatic mission he would promote the further deepening of the Russian-Armenian relations.
Congratulating the newly appointed Ambassador and wishing him success in the implementation of his diplomatic mission, the National Assembly President Hovik Abrahamyan expressed hope that during his tenure the Armenian-Russian federal and strategic relations would more deepen and develop. Touching upon the inter-parliamentary relations he has noted that the relations of the parliaments of Armenia and Russia are at high level, and the Inter-parliamentary Committee on Cooperation effectively works. He expressed readiness to comprehensively support the Ambassador during the implementation of his mission.
In the course of the meeting other regional issues were also discussed.
