Kidnapped Armenian intellectual Hakob Mikayelyan released

YEREVAN, MAY 25, ARMENPRESS. Prominent Armenian intellectual, prosaist, director of charity college of Aleppo Hakob Mikayelyan, who was kidnapped on his way from Aleppo to Beirut on May 21, has already been released. As reports "Armenpress", Beirut-based "Sevan" Radio Station stated this. Hakob Mikayelyan was kidnapped by the Islamic extremist group called Jabhat al-Nusra.

In accordance with the UN data clashes in Syria, which started on March 2011, caused the death of over 70 thousand people, including more than four dozens Armenians. A number of Armenians had been kidnapped during this period of time. They all have been released only after paying the ransom.
