Hail damages in Republic made 20-25 billion AMD

YEREVAN, MAY 24, ARMENPRESS: The losses caused from the heavy hail fell in the Republic of Armenia on May 12 make about 20-25 billion AMD. As reported by Armenpress, this was stated by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Sergo Karapetyan at the Parliamentary hearings held at the National Assembly on May 24.

As stated by the Minister, the villages, the population of which suffered by 100% from the hail, will be exempt from the land tax by 100% and the partially damaged communities will be exempt by 50%.

Concerning the anti-hail stations, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Sergo Karapetyan said that there are 234 stations in the Republic, 101 of which are located in the Armavir Marz. Another 50 anti-hail stations will be installed as well.

The demand for seeds makes 24 tons, which have already been collected from all kinds of vegetable crops. “Special attention will be paid to the socially needy families”, - said the Minister of Agriculture.

On May 12 Armavir Marz was affected by the heavy hail most. To fulfill the agreement, reached with the hail-affected villagers of the Armavir Marz, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan, all the members of the Government, the heads of the agencies at the Government of the Republic of Armenia and all the Marz heads of the Republic will allocate money from their personal incomes to the fund for assistance to the hail-affected villagers and economic units.

To support the hail-affected villagers and economic units of the Armavir Marz, all the interested can transfer money to the VTB Bank accounts: 16048518661500 (AMD) and 16048111866100 (USD).
