Government approved program of assistance to hail-affected villagers

YEREVAN, MAY 23, ARMENPRESS: The Government of the Republic of Armenia will provide assistance to the hail-affected villagers of Armavir Marz in different fields. As reported by Armenpress, the Government approved the submitted corresponding program of assistance.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan informed that the Government will cover the payments of the hail-affected community villagers for land taxes and water fees. Particularly, the Government will fully compensate the villagers, affected from the hail by 100% and will partially compensate the communities, which were affected by the hail to some extent. 350 million AMD will be allocated for the installation of 50 additional anti-hail stations.

The Head of the Government stated that by the initiative of the Armavir Marz deputies, a fund will be established and private persons will transfer money to provide assistance to the neediest economic units.

The members of the Government as well will participate in the fund’s money collection activities.

On May 22 the members of the Government, headed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan, visited the hail-affected Armavir Marz and met with the heads of the communities and the representatives of the economic units to discuss the current issues and find ways to solve them.
