YEREVAN, MAY 20, ARMENPRESS: The Government of the Republic of Armenia does everything that the gas is imported to Armenia by low price. As reported by Armenpress, this was stated by the President of the National Assembly of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan at the session held on May 20, answering the question, raised by the NA Heritage Party Deputy Zaruhi Postanjyan, what will the President of the National Assembly do not to allow increasing the gas tariff.
“Gas is a product and is imported from abroad. Any product has its price. And the Armenian authorities cannot make the decision alone. The Government holds negotiations with the Russian side and tries to do everything to import the gas with low price”, - said Hovik Abrahamyan, adding that on May 23 the National Assembly will discuss the gas tariff issue.
Armrusgazard CJSC applied to the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia, offering to raise the current tariff for gas from 132,000 AMD to 221,000 AMD. The Prime minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan sent an official letter to the Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia Robert Nazaryan, according to which the Government of Armenia will subsidize the gas tariff by 30%.
