Armenian Genocide 100th Anniversary Planning Commission Meeting Held at Mother See

YEREVAN, MAY 16, ARMENPRESS: On May 15, with the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of all Armenians, the Armenian Genocide 100th Anniversary Planning Commission, dedicated to organizing events for the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide met in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The meeting was convened under the presidency of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Committee Chairman and Leader of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America.

As Armenpress was reported by the Press Service of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, during the meeting His Grace Bishop Mikael Ajapahyan, Leader of the Shirak Diocese and Committee Chairman for coordinating events, presented his report. Based on the final results of the Committee’s undertakings, His Eminence introduced 23 suggestions to the members on organizing and convening events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The Committee members thoroughly discussed and finalized the proposals, to present them to the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of all Armenians for approval.
