Belarus interested in Armenia's experience in nuclear energy sphere

YEREVAN, AMY 13, ARMENPRESS. The Republic of Belarus is interested in Armenia's experience in the nuclear energy sphere. The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this during the press conference held in Yerevan on May 13. He noted that Belarus is building its first nuclear power plant, and the both countries would like to exchange information about safe operation of nuclear power plants and new approaches to the construction of power generating units. As reports "Armenpress" among other things the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko underlined: "You have a serious experience in operating such facilities and we believe that Armenia will be able to send a dozen of good experts to Belarus to help us during the first stage of exploitation of the future nuclear power plant." Within the framework of the visit Alexander Lukashenko will pay a visit to the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant on May 14.

On the invitation of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko paid an official visit to Armenia. The Secretary of National Security Council of the Republic of Armenia Arthur Baghdasaryan, the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Edward Sharmazanov, and the Head of "Prosperous Armenia" fraction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Gagik Tzarukyan welcomed the President of Belarus in "Zvartnots" international airport of Yerevan.

On May 13 the official ceremony of welcoming the President of Belarus will took place at the Presidential Residence, which was followed by a private meeting of the Presidents of the two countries, as well as negotiations in the extended format with the participation of the official delegations.

In the framework of his official visit, the President of Belarus will visit the Tzitzernakaberd Memorial to pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. In the evening, President Serzh Sargsyan will host an official dinner in honor of the President of Belarus and his delegation.

On May 14, President Lukashenko will visit the Armenian Nuclear Power Station and will participate in the inauguration of the Armenian-Belarus Trade Center.

Later, the Presidents of Armenia and Belarus will attend the ceremony of consecration of the newly constructed St. John the Baptist Church in Abovian town of the Kotayk diocese.
