YEREVAN, JANAURY 31, ARMENPRESS. Armenia, becoming a member of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), will join five main international agreements regarding the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space. Armenian Astronomic Association informed "Armenpress" that the first one of the aforementioned agreements is "Outer Space Treaty" - The Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies. The second is "Rescue Agreement" - The Agreement on the Rescue of Astronauts, the Return of Astronauts and the Return of Objects Launched into Outer Space. The next comes "Liability Convention" - The Convention on International Liability for Damage Caused by Space Objects. The forth is "Registration Convention" - The Convention on Registration of Objects Launched into Outer Space. And the final document is entitled "Moon Treaty" - The Agreement Governing the Activities of States on the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies. Also the representatives of Armenia will participate in the annual sessions of the COPUOS sub-commissions on scientific-technical and legal issues.
