Hovik Abrahamyan invited to Turkmenistan

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS: Armenian President of National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan had a meeting with Turkmen delegation led by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov on November 29. Chairmen of Armenian NA standing committee and members of Armenia-Turkmenistan friendly group partook at the meeting.

As Armenpress was informed from the informational and public relations department of NA, greeting Turkmen President in Armenian National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan assured that Berdymukhammedov’s visit to Armenia would give a new impetus to the deepening and strengthening of bilateral relations. NA president stressed the importance of activating trade cooperation, as well as cooperation in scientific and cultural spheres. In the context of the development of relations Hovik Abrahamyan considered to be important the activation of intergovernmental relations and interaction in international parliamentary structures.

President of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude for warm reception and transmitted the best wishes and official invitation of Turkmenistan NA President Akja Nurberdiyeva to Hovik Abrahamyan.

Berdymukhammedov’s believes that interparliamentary cooperation will promote the development of cooperation in all sectors. He has also stressed the importance of Armenia's experience in legislative reform. Highly evaluating the development of interaction between the two states Turkmen President noted that Turkmenistan was interested in developing trade and scientific relations with Armenia.

Other regional issues of bilateral interest have also been discussed during the meeting.
