Kaltenbach wants the law criminalizing the denial of Genocide in France to be adopted before April 24

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS: The Chairman of France-Armenia friendly group of French Senate Philippe Kaltenbach hosted the delegation of the Council Coordinating French-Armenian Organizations. A number of senators participated at the meeting. The draft law criminalizing the denial of Armenian Genocide in France, the visit of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and the visit of parliamentarians to Paris were at the core of the meeting's discussion. As reports Armenpress referring to French "Nor Harach" daily, the Co-Chairs of the Coordinating Council Mourad Papazian and Ara Toronian once again highlighted the commitment of President Hollande to the adoption of the draft law criminalizing the denial of Armenian Genocide.

According to Philippe Kaltenbach France-Armenia friendly group is willing to see the law adopted as soon as possible, before April 24, 2013. He has noted that this time it is of crucial importance to take into consideration and pay attention to all legal and political condition for the law to be successful.

The law criminalizing the denial of Genocide which was adopted by the Parliament of France on December 2011, afterwards by Senate of France on January, 2012 in a result of the efforts of some deputies advocating Turkey was presented to the Constitutional Court and was considered unconstitutional.
