Strasbourg Court decision is essential in Safarov case: Stefan Harabin

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 12,ARMENPRESS: Strasbourg Court decision will be essential in the case of Azerbaijani criminal Ramil Safaorv extradition and pardon. Stefan Harabin , Slovakia's Supreme Court Chairman told in the briefing with Armenpress, he considers Gurgen Margarayn legal successors will turn to EuropeanCourt ofHuman Rights .'' As a judge I sentence the longest punishment for the assassination cases and as a Supreme Court Chairman I was the first to appoint life sentence for the murderers'' Stefan Harabin stated.

Lieutenant of the Armenian Armed Forces Gurgen Margaryan, was hacked to death, while asleep, by a fellow Azerbaijani participant, lieutenant Ramil Safarov, in Budapest during a three-month English language course in the framework of Partnership for Peace NATO-sponsored program on February 19, 2004. Hungarian court had sentenced Ramil Safarov to a life imprisonment with no right t to be pardoned in 30 years time . Criminal Safarov was extradited to Azerbaijan on August 31, 2012 by Hungarian authorities.Yet the assassin was not mainly released in Homeland but granted a mayor title. Armenia suspended diplomatic relations with Hungary. Many international and local organizations, political forces and politicians have come forth with condemnation statements.Armenia has suspended diplomatic relations with Hungary, which in its turn accused Azerbaijan for cheating.

Another Armenian serviceman having rescued from the actions of the Azerbaijani murderer Ramil Safarov, Hayk Mukuchyan is going to appeal to international courts. Colonel Makuchyann already launched consultations with lawyers to study the issue and prepare a request for a lawsuit.
